El regulador financiero de Singapur (MAS) anunci\u00f3 el retraso de la aplicaci\u00f3n de normas de capital estilo Basel para exposiciones bancarias a criptoactivos. Lo previsto originalmente para enero de 2026 queda pospuesto al 1 de enero de 2027 o incluso m\u00e1s all\u00e1, con el fin de dar a las entidades financieras tiempo adicional para adaptar sus sistemas de riesgo, valoraci\u00f3n y cumplimiento internacional.<\/p>\n

La decisi\u00f3n responde a comentarios de la industria financiera y cripto, que alertaban que imponer reglas estrictas demasiado pronto podr\u00eda generar arbitraje regulatorio si Singapur avanzaba en solitario.<\/p>\n

El MAS<\/a> comunic\u00f3 que diferir\u00e1 el \u201ctratamiento prudencial y las divulgaciones de exposiciones a criptoactivos\u201d hasta 2027 o fecha posterior, y que pronto emitir\u00e1 est\u00e1ndares finales en coordinaci\u00f3n con las l\u00edneas internacionales.<\/p>\n

Singapur<\/a> mantiene ciertas reglas interinas \u2014por ejemplo la normativa MAS Notice 637\u2014 que definen instrumentos de capital adicionales Tier-1 y Tier-2, y seguir\u00e1 supervisando c\u00f3mo se clasifican stablecoins y blockchains permissionless.<\/p>\n

El aplazamiento busca alinear la postura local con los desarrollos regulatorios globales antes de adoptar una versi\u00f3n definitiva.<\/p>\n

Comparativamente, Hong Kong est\u00e1 acelerando su regulaci\u00f3n cripto<\/a>, adoptando normas de capital m\u00e1s livianas para atraer flujo institucional. Esta divergencia pone de manifiesto que los centros financieros asi\u00e1ticos est\u00e1n probando estrategias distintas frente al cripto: Singapur apuesta por prudencia y estabilidad, mientras que otros persiguen crecimiento r\u00e1pido.<\/p>\n
