XCOPY’s 2018 NFT ‘Dissolution’ Sells for $525K on Gondi

Gondi said XCOPY’s one-of-one artwork Dissolution sold for 525,000 USDC, with the transaction routed through its Legacy 721 Wrapper and its Sell & Repay feature. In a post on X, the platform said the piece was originally a legacy ERC-721 SuperRare token and that an outstanding 350,000 USDC loan was repaid as part of the sale.https://twitter.com/_/status/2085424509713039465
The mechanics matter here because the artwork was not simply transferred in a standard secondary sale. According to Gondi, the token had to be wrapped before it could be handled through the platform’s current system, and the sale was structured so the loan could be cleared in the same transaction.
A wrapped legacy NFT and a loan repayment in one transaction
The deal centered on an older SuperRare asset that Gondi described as a legacy ERC-721 token. The platform said its Legacy 721 Wrapper made the NFT compatible with its setup, while Sell & Repay was used to settle the existing 350,000 USDC loan against the artwork.
That left the sale proceeds to be distributed after the loan was repaid, rather than requiring a separate repayment step before the transfer. Gondi did not add further details about the buyer or seller.
External coverage of the transaction echoed the same price and mechanism, but Gondi’s own post was the clearest public source for the structure of the sale.
