Centrifuge, Janus Henderson and SMT bring loyalty program reserves onchain

Centrifuge said it is working with Janus Henderson and SMT to move loyalty program reserve management onchain, with Janus Henderson Advisors set to actively manage a portfolio through a Centrifuge vault.

The company’s announcement says the vault will allocate to tokenized strategies including JTRSY and JAAA. Centrifuge also said SMT powers loyalty programs for Visa, FIFA, Samsung and other brands.

The update frames the effort as a reserve-management setup rather than a consumer-facing product launch. In practical terms, the arrangement appears designed to place loyalty program reserves into an onchain structure managed through Centrifuge infrastructure, with Janus Henderson overseeing the portfolio allocation.

Centrifuge’s post does not spell out timing for broader rollout details or operational changes beyond the vault arrangement itself. It also does not indicate whether the setup is already live across all of SMT’s loyalty program clients or being introduced in stages.
