Janus Henderson Launches First Licensed Tokenized Nasdaq-100 Fund on Stellar via Centrifuge

Janus Henderson has launched JQQQ, a tokenized fund designed to track the Nasdaq-100 Index, in what the company describes as the first licensed product of its kind. The fund is being issued on the company’s official announcement with Centrifuge and will run on the Stellar network.

The asset manager said the fund gives investors blockchain-based exposure to the Nasdaq-100 through an issuer-sponsored structure rather than through a third-party stock token. Janus Henderson manages the fund, while Centrifuge provides the tokenization infrastructure. The product is initially aimed at eligible non-U.S. professional investors, according to reporting cited in coverage of the launch.

A licensed index product, not a direct stock wrapper

The launch matters because it places a familiar equity benchmark inside a regulated fund structure onchain, rather than simply mirroring share prices through a standalone token. That distinction changes the product’s setup and governance: the fund is tied to Nasdaq licensing and managed by Janus Henderson, rather than functioning as an informal market proxy.

Coverage of the rollout said JQQQ carries a $100,000 minimum investment and is starting on Stellar. The move also extends Janus Henderson’s tokenization push after its earlier onchain index-fund work, including a tokenized S&P 500 product.

For now, the launch is best understood as a new distribution format for a traditional index fund, not a broad shift in access to the Nasdaq-100 itself. The fund’s availability remains limited to the investor profile described in the announcement and related coverage.
