ADI Foundation and Tokinvest sign MoU for $100 million tokenized Sukuk plan

ADI Foundation and Tokinvest have signed a memorandum of understanding to explore tokenized Sukuk issuance and broader real-world asset, or RWA, tokenization opportunities, with the partnership’s stated target being a $100 million tokenized Sukuk initiative.

The agreement is framed as a collaboration to identify, develop and evaluate tokenized investment opportunities across multiple asset classes, rather than a completed issuance. According to the report, ADI Foundation will contribute its RWA pipeline and institutional blockchain infrastructure, while Tokinvest will bring regulated structuring, issuance, investor onboarding and distribution capabilities.

A framework for regulated tokenized issuance

The stated focus on Sukuk points to an effort to bring an existing Islamic finance instrument into a digital issuance structure. The parties said the arrangement is meant to assess commercial and regulatory viability before advancing selected initiatives toward development and implementation.

The report also says the partnership is intended to support blockchain-based settlement and to create a framework for tokenized investment products that could be distributed through regulated channels. That places the deal squarely in the early-stage structuring phase, with no immediate issuance details disclosed.

Tokinvest CEO Scott Thiel said the collaboration combines “regulated digital investment infrastructure” with “institutional blockchain technology,” while ADI Foundation’s Ramana Kumar said the group aims to create practical pathways for real-world assets to enter regulated digital investment markets.

For now, the central development is the signing of the MoU itself and the identification of a $100 million tokenized Sukuk as the primary target. The announcement does not indicate that the instrument has been issued, nor does it provide a timeline for launch.
