Agentic Payments Alliance launches with 26 members, including Visa and Mastercard

Rain said it has launched the Agentic Payments Alliance, a coalition of 26 founding members spanning payments, stablecoins and AI-oriented commerce. In a post on Rain’s official X account, the company said the group is intended to help shape how AI agents transact on behalf of users.

The alliance’s founding list includes Visa, Mastercard, Circle, Solana Foundation, Fireblocks, Avalanche, Uniswap Labs and several other payments and crypto infrastructure companies. Rain described the effort as a way to bring platforms, regulators and builders into the same conversation while the category is still developing.
Rain frames the alliance around agent-driven commerce
According to Rain, the group is meant to guide the development of agentic commerce rather than define it unilaterally. The company said “no single company” should decide how agents transact on someone’s behalf, and argued that the rules should emerge from the companies building the rails, the regulators setting the rules and the innovators closest to how agents are being used.
The announcement does not provide a detailed operating framework for the alliance, and it is not yet clear what formal actions the members will take together. The launch mainly establishes the coalition and identifies the companies involved at the outset.
Rain has positioned itself around stablecoin-powered payments for enterprises, neobanks, platforms, developers and AI agents. The company’s announcement says the alliance is intended to support that broader direction as the idea of agent-driven payments takes shape.
