Centrifuge expands Digital Transfer Agency as it points to Hong Kong’s 24/7 tokenized fund trading move

Centrifuge said it is expanding its Digital Transfer Agency capabilities and appointed Johnny Reinsch as head of transfer agency, describing the move as part of a broader effort to connect fund ownership, servicing and transfers across onchain markets.

In an official blog post, the company said the expansion builds on its existing transfer agent license and its role serving its $1 billion BVI fund platform, Cayman vaults platform and an upcoming token-to-equity transaction.

The company framed the update as an extension of its operating stack rather than a new concept, saying the goal is to bring ownership records, transfer controls and investor servicing into a single programmable workflow. Reinsch, whom Centrifuge named as its new head of transfer agency, said the approach is designed to keep asset managers in control of fund and investor relationships as shares move across digital markets.

Hong Kong’s tokenized-fund trading approval enters the picture

Centrifuge also highlighted Hong Kong’s approval of 24/7 trading for tokenized public funds, saying the move adds another route for secondary markets to develop around tokenized assets. In a social post, the company said regulated venues are now opening alongside DeFi protocols that already support trading in tokens tied to institutional assets.

The Hong Kong reference was not part of the blog post itself, but Centrifuge cited it in its social commentary as evidence that tokenized-fund trading is spreading across both decentralized and regulated market settings. The company did not provide additional procedural detail in the post beyond pointing to the approval and its relevance to secondary trading.

For Centrifuge, the two updates point in the same direction: a push to make tokenized funds easier to issue, service and trade after launch. The company’s announcement focused on the operational layer around funds, while its Hong Kong comment pointed to the market structure that could support more continuous trading for tokenized products.
