Cysic Bridge Halted After Unauthorized Mint of 10M CYS Tokens

Cysic said it suspended its cross-chain bridge after an unauthorized mint of 10 million CYS tokens on BNB Smart Chain, according to a report on the incident that cited the project’s own update. The company said the issue affected bridge message processing and token minting, while its mainnet and user wallets were not impacted.

According to the report, the mint took place on Saturday at 12:31:38 UTC. Cysic later blacklisted the recipient address at 13:47:52 UTC, limiting transfers from that wallet. The address still held about 2.8 million CYS after the restriction was applied.
The company said preliminary findings point to unauthorized access to a database supporting the bridge. It also said the incident is being investigated with the help of a security firm, and that a follow-up report is planned. Cysic added that the mint size alone does not determine the dollar impact of the incident.
Bridge activity was paused while the investigation continues
The reported freeze appears limited to the bridge flow rather than the full Cysic network. That distinction matters because a bridge pause can interrupt cross-chain transfers without necessarily affecting the underlying protocol or existing balances on users’ wallets.
What remains unresolved is the broader impact of the unauthorized mint, including whether any tokens moved before restrictions were applied and how the incident will affect bridge operations going forward. For now, Cysic has said the bridge is halted while it investigates the processing flaw.
