Telegram Wallet has introduced a new feature that allows users to buy USDT (Tether) without any fees in more than 60 countries. The primary goal of this feature is to make stablecoins more accessible and to support their wider adoption around the world.
The partnership with The Open Network (TON) and the collaboration with Mercuryo, a payment infrastructure platform, enable this feature. By reducing the costs associated with deposits, the integration is designed to encourage more cryptocurrency usage within the Telegram messaging application.

In addition to enabling fee-free purchases, the system allows for direct transactions using Toncoin (TON), Bitcoin (BTC), and USDT, eliminating the need for external exchanges. Furthermore, Telegram Wallet offers a peer-to-peer (P2P) trading feature, allowing users to buy and sell cryptocurrencies directly among themselves.
Telegram: Transactions as Simple as Sending a Message
Using this platform, users can perform instant, fee-free transfers between Telegram accounts, making the exchange of digital assets as simple and effortless as sending a message.
At the same time, Tether is encountering regulatory issues in Europe due to the implementation of the new Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) framework. Leading cryptocurrency exchanges, including Coinbase, Kraken, and Crypto.com, have announced plans to remove USDT from their platforms to comply with these new regulations. While this change could affect the availability of USDT in Europe, its adoption continues to grow globally.
Moreover, Tether has diversified its investment portfolio. Recently, the company acquired a strategic minority stake in the renowned Italian football club Juventus, marking its first foray into sectors beyond the crypto market.
