Emurgo, a Cardano co-founding entity, announced a strategic alliance with Wirex. The goal is the Cardano card launch by 2026. This initiative was revealed during the Cardano Summit in Berlin, seeking to integrate ADA into the daily payments of millions.

The new crypto card will be multi-chain and integrated directly into the Wirex app. This will offer access to over six million users in 130 countries. Event attendees in Berlin previewed the physical, metal, and virtual versions of the card. Its full official launch is scheduled for the year 2026.

Will this alliance boost the use of ADA as cash?

This collaboration seeks to capitalize on Cardano’s large and loyal community. Wirex aims to make it easy for ADA holders to spend their assets in the real world. The product will include benefits like up to 8% crypto cashback. It will also offer ATM access, low FX fees, and DeFi utilities such as yield and loans.

Furthermore, Emurgo CEO Phillip Pon highlighted that the Cardano card launch will improve the project’s visibility in the banking world. Wirex co-founder Georgy Sokolov called it a key step toward mass crypto adoption. Additionally, a share of the profits will go to the Cardano Treasury, thereby strengthening the ecosystem.

While ADA’s price shows recent strength above $0.56, the focus shifts to real-world adoption. This strategic move by Emurgo and Wirex positions Cardano in the competitive space of crypto payment companies. The full integration in 2026 is expected to test the card’s real impact on the daily use of ADA.
