Sui says it completed a first native quantum-safe transaction on devnet

Sui has recorded what it describes as its first native quantum-safe transaction on devnet, according to comments from Mysten Labs co-founder Kostas Chalkias. The update comes as the project prepares to bring post-quantum accounts live on the network’s development environment.

In a post on X, Chalkias said the transaction marked the “1st Sui devnet native Quantum-Safe transaction”. A separate report from CoinNess said he described the event as the first native quantum-resistant transaction on Sui devnet, but the specific claim was not independently verified in the material reviewed.
Post-quantum accounts are set for devnet
The stronger confirmed update is that post-quantum accounts are scheduled to go live on Sui devnet next Monday, based on remarks attributed to Adeniyi Abioye, who said the team is “well ahead of schedule.” That suggests the network is moving from announcement toward a live test environment for the new account type.
Post-quantum accounts are designed to protect users’ funds against threats associated with future quantum computing capabilities. On the information available, the development is limited to devnet and should be read as an early network milestone rather than a mainnet rollout.
The timing matters because Sui appears to be testing the feature before the date originally suggested in the social post. Beyond that, the available material does not establish broader adoption, user activity or market impact.
