Clearstream says it is preparing tokenized access to assets in custody through Ondo partnership

Clearstream said it is preparing to make assets it holds in custody available in tokenized form through a partnership with Ondo, a move that would bring one of Europe’s largest securities services providers further into the tokenization market.
In its official press release, Clearstream said the collaboration is aimed at tokenizing assets it holds in custody and making them available through Ondo. The release describes the company as holding about €20 trillion in assets under custody, while Ondo’s social post referred to €22 trillion.
Ondo said initial issuances are planned for later this year. Clearstream did not frame the partnership as a completed rollout, and the release leaves the exact scope of the first tokenized offerings to be determined.
The announcement places a major custody and post-trade infrastructure provider in a tokenization effort that is still in preparation. For now, the key confirmed development is the partnership itself and Clearstream’s intent to make some of the assets it safeguards available in tokenized form.
