Uniswap and PancakeSwap dominate tokenized commodities DEX trading as volume hits $678.2 million

Tokenized commodities generated $678.2 million in decentralized exchange trading volume over the past 30 days, with Uniswap handling 62.0% of the total and PancakeSwap accounting for 34.1%, according to a Token Terminal dashboard post. Combined, the two venues represented 96.1% of the category’s DEX volume.

The figures point to a highly concentrated market structure for tokenized commodities trading on-chain. Rather than a broad set of venues sharing activity more evenly, the data shows most of the category’s volume flowing through two major DEXs.

Crypto Briefing separately reported the same concentration, also citing the $678.2 million total and the 96.1% combined share for Uniswap and PancakeSwap. The reporting did not indicate a broader market breakdown beyond those venues.

Gold-backed tokens appear to do most of the trading

The broader tokenized commodities category is being driven mainly by gold-backed tokens, according to the reporting. In that framing, the segment’s trading activity is concentrated not only on a small number of exchanges, but also on a narrow set of assets.

That kind of concentration matters for readers tracking on-chain market structure. It means activity in the category can depend heavily on the depth and continuity of liquidity on just a few platforms, rather than on a distributed set of venues.
