BitBoy Arrested in Florida Over Emails to a Judge

TL;DR

  • Ben Armstrong, known as BitBoy, was arrested in Florida for sending emails to a judge while representing himself in court.
  • Armstrong had already been arrested in 2023 after confronting a former associate over a Lamborghini dispute.
  • Despite legal controversies, Armstrong remains an influential figure in the crypto space, even participating in events like Karate Combat.

Ben Armstrong, better known as “BitBoy Crypto”, has been arrested once again, this time in Florida, on March 25 at 7:18 p.m. According to records from the “Volusia County Division of Corrections”, he was detained as a “fugitive from justice” after a warrant was confirmed against him. The reason: sending emails directly to Judge Kimberly Childs of Cobb County, Georgia, while acting as his own legal representative. Armstrong claimed that his emails led the judge to delete her social media accounts, an event that quickly caught the attention of the crypto community.

A Controversial Yet Influential Figure in Crypto

This isn’t Armstrong’s first brush with the law. In September 2023, he was arrested during a livestream while confronting a former business associate, accusing him of withholding his Lamborghini. Earlier that year, in March, he was also named in a lawsuit alongside other celebrities for allegedly promoting Binance and participating in the sale of unregistered securities. Although the case was settled in August 2024 for $340,000, with no admission of guilt,  his public image took a hit.

Still, Armstrong hasn’t disappeared from the spotlight. In February 2024, he stepped into the ring at a “Karate Combat” event in Mexico, fighting a memecoin developer and emerging victorious. The match drew attention even beyond the crypto world. Armstrong has also remained active on social media, frequently commenting on current crypto events and promoting new projects. His digital presence has helped him maintain a loyal and engaged community despite ongoing controversies.

Traditional Systems vs. the New Digital Order?

Since being ousted from Hit Network in August 2023, allegedly over substance abuse and unprofessional behavior, accusations he firmly denies, Armstrong has become somewhat of a symbol of crypto’s defiance against traditional power structures. For many, his story reflects the ongoing clash between old judicial systems and a rising generation of decentralized entrepreneurs who refuse to play by outdated rules.

In a world where the traditional financial system is showing cracks, figures like BitBoy, with all their flaws, continue to represent the voice of a community that seeks independence, even if it means walking a legal tightrope.
