Cardano advances multiple CIP and CPS proposals on security and tooling

Cardano has added several new items to its proposal pipeline, including a candidate focused on post-quantum wallet security and another aimed at improving Plutus Core conformance testing. The Cardano Community said in a post on X that the latest submissions include CIP-0197, described as Post-Quantum ZK Signatures for HD Wallets, and CPS-0034, described as Extending Plutus Core conformance testing.

The update points to two different priorities: wallet security on one side, and developer tooling on the other. CIP-0197 is framed as an intermediate step toward post-quantum asset security, while CPS-0034 is intended to expand testing coverage for Plutus Core behavior. The post did not say either proposal has been adopted.

Security and testing remain in the review stage

The Cardano Community’s message also linked the proposals to their GitHub pull requests, indicating they are still moving through community review. That means the items are being discussed as candidates rather than finalized protocol changes.

Cardano’s official Plutus Core Team Update had already said the Plutus team opened two CIPs and a CPS for community review, covering tooling around UPLC/Data encoding and exposing property tests tied to security and testing. The newly highlighted proposals extend that broader workstream, but they still require review before any implementation path is clear.

In the same public update cycle, Cardano also pointed to additional proposals in active review and others marked complete. For now, the central development is straightforward: the network’s governance process is still producing new proposals around wallet security, testing and developer tooling, but the items remain proposals rather than deployed changes.
