Ripple and Securitize add RLUSD off-ramp for BlackRock and VanEck tokenized funds

Ripple and Securitize said they have enabled RLUSD smart-contract functionality for BlackRock’s BUIDL and VanEck’s VBILL tokenized funds, allowing eligible holders to swap their fund shares into Ripple’s stablecoin.
The companies described the move as a direct integration between tokenized money-market style fund shares and RLUSD, giving holders a way to convert positions into the stablecoin through smart-contract functionality rather than through a separate manual process. The announcement did not say whether the feature is already broadly available to all holders or how widely it will be used.
A new conversion path for tokenized fund shares
BUIDL and VBILL are among the best-known tokenized funds in the market, and Securitize is the platform handling their tokenization. By linking those funds to RLUSD, the two companies are extending the mechanics of tokenized finance beyond issuance and custody into a programmed redemption or swap path.
The practical change is narrow but important: holders of the two funds now have an onchain route into RLUSD, which may make the assets easier to move within crypto-native settlement flows. The announcement does not provide details on fees, timing, limits or whether the swap is available around the clock for all jurisdictions and counterparties.
Ripple’s stablecoin pushes deeper into institutional tokenization
The update adds another institutional use case for RLUSD, which Ripple is positioning as part of its broader stablecoin strategy. For Securitize, the integration connects one of the sector’s most visible tokenization platforms with a regulated dollar-denominated asset that can sit alongside tokenized funds.
While the companies framed the functionality as a step toward more seamless movement between tokenized funds and stablecoins, the release does not show whether the integration will change demand for either fund or for RLUSD. It does, however, place the stablecoin directly inside the plumbing of two widely watched tokenized products.
