The first week of October 2025 will mark a significant moment in the cryptocurrency market with the release of tokens valued at more than $773 million. Three main projects —SUI, EIGEN and ENA— will release the bulk of the supply, an event that is being closely monitored by product teams and compliance staff due to its potential impact on prices, liquidity and internal budgets.

Sui will unlock 44 million SUI tokens on October 1, equivalent to approximately $145 million and 1.23% of the total supply. This release will be distributed among several groups: Series B investors will receive 19.32 million, the community reserve 12.63 million, early contributors 9.98 million, and Mysten Labs 2.07 million.

EigenCloud will release 36.82 million EIGEN tokens also on October 1, representing 2.1% of the supply. This event occurs at a critical time as EigenLayer and its derivatives establish yields and security budgets across the DeFi ecosystem.

Ethena will issue 40.63 million ENA tokens during the week, although the exact date has not yet been confirmed. This unlock could affect the USDe stablecoin and its savings product “Internet Bond.”

Implications for the market

A token unlock converts locked or vesting balances into transferable coins. The immediate result is twofold: the additional supply can put downward pressure on prices if holders sell, but it can also increase liquidity if recipients stake, develop, or participate in governance.

For SUI, the distribution between investors and reserves indicates planned use, although traders will continue to monitor immediate price movements. In the case of EigenCloud, the new tokens could alter restaking yields and the security margin of protocols dependent on EigenLayer. For Ethena, the market will watch whether the unlocked ENA tokens stabilize or destabilize USDe.

The next fixed date is October 1, 2025. How recipients act —selling, staking or reinvesting— will determine the price and liquidity over the following days. Tracking unlock schedules will be essential to measure flows and risks.
