This week, the US House of Representatives delegation will pay an official visit to Switzerland, where they will meet with local regulators to discuss the Libra project, which is being developed by the world's largest social network Facebook.
In particular, representatives of the Financial Services Committee plan to meet with the special representative of the Swiss Federal Office for Data and Information Protection (FDPIC) Adrian Lobziger.
As American lawmakers hope, during the upcoming visit, they will be able to clarify some regulatory issues around Libra.
The six-member delegation will be led by Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee of the U.S. House Maxine Waters, who at one time demanded to stop the development of Libra until all the risks posed by the Facebook project are fully understood.
Earlier, some representatives of the Committee expressed concern that the Libra Association was registered in Switzerland.
