Maduro arrived in Moscow to tell Putin about bitcoin and ask for help

Today, 5 December, in the Russian capital will host the official meeting of the presidents of Venezuela and Russia, nicolás Maduro and Vladimir Putin. Among the main topics that will be discussed by the leaders of the two countries, joint investment projects and the allocation of additional aid to Caracas.

According to the previously made statement of the Ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic in the Russian Federation Carlos Rafael Faria Tortosa, Russia and Venezuela, among other issues, will discuss the fate of the Venezuelan national cryptocurrencies El Petro.

“Our Minister gave information about the cryptocurrency, the Russian side showed great interest. In the near future there will be a meeting to explain in more detail how to work our crypto currency”, — he explained the Agency TASS.

In addition, it is expected that Venezuela would turn to Russia for more financial aid.

“Practical assistance to Venezuela is on a regular basis. Will probably be touched upon (for help) at this time,” he told reporters ahead of a meeting with presidential aide Yuri Ushakov.

Also among the topics discussed will be cooperation in the energy sector. According to Ushakov, Gazprombank implements programs to increase oil production in the six blocks of hydrocarbon fields located in and around lake Maracaibo in the North-East of the country, and “inter RAO” was completed in November, a contract to supply 13 gas turbines for power plants in Venezuela.

In General, the volume of accumulated Russian investment in Venezuela exceeded $4.1 billion.
