IOTA came up with how to effectively reduce the database with transactions

IOTA introduced Chronicle solution that allows node owners to easily store all transaction data and maintain continuous access to this data

Before the advent of Chronicle, the owners of the nodes of this cryptocurrency project faced problems that were directly related to the limited storage, as transactions quickly populated the database. Iota tried to solve this problem by introducing local snapshots of data, allowing node owners to delete old transactions and save a small database.

However, this solution was only partially successful, because it was not suitable for data types that need to be stored for long periods of time.

The network now has a highly scalable, fault tolerant, and relatively compact database.

In the future, the IOTA Foundation plans to further expand the functionality and capabilities of Chronicle. The organization invited the community to participate in this endeavor and stated that it intends to issue grants for the development and expansion of nodes.

Earlier it became known that IOTA entered into a partnership with car manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover to demonstrate the concept of monitoring the state of charge of a car using DLT.
