Users of one of the leading BitTorrent torrent trackers will be able to receive cryptocurrency as a reward for distributing files, which will make them even more accessible, and download speeds even higher. BitTorrent Token (BTT) coins will be received by those users who after downloading files become CED (“Seed”), i.e. begin to distribute the downloaded file themselves.
As BitTorrent product director Pavel Lagutin said, the company plans to integrate the blockchain into the torrent tracker and develop a user incentive system.
“As a company that has been developing the most popular torrent client in the world over the past 15 years, we know the peculiarities of user behavior and understand their problems. One of them is the lack of motivation to remain in the distribution after the user has downloaded the file he needs, ”he noted.
The company is confident that this problem can be solved with the help of material interest of the parties: the time and resources of the distributors will be rewarded, and the downloads will be able to spend some virtual currency in order to quickly access the necessary files.
BitTorrent (BTT) tokens obtained in this way will be stored in the built-in wallet and can be exchanged for TRON (TRX) tokens at a decentralized site.
