The cost of bitcoin transactions fell to a five-year low of

Analytical company Diar reported that the average size of commissions in the Bitcoin network has dropped to 2014 values. At the same time, the number of transactions increased to 9 million per month. The last time such activity was observed at the end of 2017.

It is noteworthy that the trading volume on the largest stock exchanges decreased to 40%. A similar decline is observed in decentralized sites. According to Diar experts, this suggests that cryptocurrency has become more often used as a means of payment, rather than a speculative asset.

Earlier, Diar analysts reported that in 2018, the Bitcoin network processed transactions for $ 3.2 trillion. Experts point out that this proves the effectiveness of cryptocurrency in cross-border payments.
