Coindirect users can now buy MakerDao Dai tokens in local paper currency without prior operation with Ether.
Coindirect, the leading African cryptocurrency exchange, announced that it now fully supports MakerDao's Dai stablecoin.
The African Exchange is one of the first exchanges offering direct transactions from the national fiat currency to Dai, and give to Fiat. Since a stable coin is a Ethereum supported token, many other platforms offer an Eth-to-Dai exchange, but do not process Fiat-to-Dai transactions.
Coindirect, which currently provides the largest cryptocurrency offer in Africa with more than 40 tokens available on the platform, was recently announced as the number one cryptocurrency exchange in Africa.
Earlier this year, Coindirect raised over € 1 million in its initial round led by Concentric, Blockchain.com and MakerDao. Since the announcement, Coindirect has launched a Euro wallet that offers payments in crypto-euro for users living in Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Germany, Estonia, Spain, Finland, France, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Latvia, Malta. , The Netherlands, Portugal, Slovenia, Slovakia and Denmark.
Rune Christensen, CEO and co-founder of MakerDAO, commented:
“The creator believes that the blockchain is able to create an inclusive platform for expanding economic opportunities. Working with Coindirect to help people buy and trade cryptocurrencies for the local currency is one step closer to giving people around the world equal access to the global financial market. ”
