Official: Galaxy S10 contains hardware storage for private crypto keys

At the end of last year, the South Korean technology giant Samsung denied the information in the media that the Galaxy S10 would be equipped with a cold wallet for cryptocurrencies. However, the official press release states that the smartphone does have hardware storage.

“The Galaxy S10 uses a security solution from the Samsung Knox class, and also has secure storage based on hardware, which can store your private keys for mobile services with blockchain support,” the announcement says.

On December 10, 2018, information appeared in the media that the Transnational Technical Conglomerate with headquarters in Korea recently filed for registration in the EU three trademarks for blockchain-based software using cryptocurrency: “Blockchain KeyStore”, “Blockchain key box” and the “Blockchain Core”. As reported on the Samsung SamMobile Samsung community news site, on December 11, trademark requests are part of proposed plans to embed a cold cryptocurrency wallet into the Galaxy S10 smartphone.

"Unfortunately, we can not provide any information, because the following are rumors and assumptions," Samsung officials replied to a Cointelegraph inquiry.
