Study: Bitcoin global adoption has grown by 700% since 2013

Twitter user Ryan Radloff reported that the number of stores that accept Bitcoins has increased by 700%, compared with 2013. He demonstrated data from the CoinMap service – this resource keeps track of places where you can pay with cryptocurrency.

December 31, 2013 in the world there were only 1,787 outlets and ATMs with Bitcoin support. As of February 13, 2019, their number increased to 14,346. CoinMap data show that cryptocurrencies are most popular in North America and Europe, as well as some countries in Asia and South America.

However, unofficial data show that the adoption of cryptocurrency is at a higher level. So, the co-founder of Dash Merchant Venezuela, Alejandro Echeverria, said that there are more than 2.5 thousand stores in Venezuela that accept Dash for payment.
